2022 Interior Design Trends

Blog |

Since the turn of the decade, we’ve been spending more time in our homes than ever before. Lengthy lockdowns, a large switch in our ability to work remotely and lack of travel options has meant we’ve all been stuck in our house more often than not. This has created a lot more pride in our interior surroundings and who can blame us?

Choosing designs that compliment your home and your lifestyle is a beneficial way to approach the look of your house. So we started considering the most popular design trends for 2022 and came up with the following.

The sharp lines of mid-century modern will always be in, but more and more we’re seeing a softening of furniture silhouettes, with curved edges and feminine shapes rising to the forefront

Sustainable Practices

Sustainable products are more important than ever, for the environment and for consumers. People are hyperaware these days regarding where products come from, the companies who make them and the responsibility and working conditions of which they’re produced. This year, look to adopt more innovative products that are designed from the start with sustainability in mind. In the near future, we will begin to see widespread adoption of green technology in residential interiors. Homeowners will not only be more conscious of their consumption but will also actively look to reduce their energy and water usage.

Texture

Beauty won’t be sacrificed by sustainability as bold design and bold colours return to the forefront of interior design. Sharp lines from the mid-century will always be popular but we will see more curvature when it comes to furniture and woodwork to soften our homes. Texture is a way to add layer and depth to this new softer style. Weaved rugs, soft velvet and authentic woods will add warmth and create an inviting space.

Wood Flooring And Panelling

Our timber adds both warmth and texture whilst our commitment to environmentally responsible products will give you the peace of mind you’re seeking when looking for home decor. Add it as flooring or wood panelling on walls or ceilings. In a world where deforestation is a real threat, our products are FSC and PEFC Certified. FSC (Forest Stewardship Council®) is an international organisation established to promote environmentally appropriate, socially beneficial and economically viable management of the world’s forests. An FSC logo on timber or wood products represents that the product comes from environmentally appropriate and socially beneficial forestry. Where as PEFC (The Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification) is an international, non-profit, non-governmental organisation that promotes sustainable forest management through independent third party certification.
