What is Urban?

Urban is our most affordable timber flooring collection, consisting of an enduring range of colours that don't compromise on style or quality. The collection has a 14mm engineered construction made up of a 3mm European Oak wear layer with an 11mm hevea core and birch backing. The Urban collection includes 10 classic colours, with several available in your choice of prime or feature grade. All styles feature a durable and hard-wearing matte lacquer finish and a lightly brushed texture. With a Valinge 5G locking profile we recommend that Urban is direct stuck, although it can be floated if required. Urban collection products can be sanded back 1-2 times if needed. A 25 year residential warranty and 5 year commercial warranty is offered with this product.

Urban is the perfect step up from laminate flooring if you are wanting a genuine timber product. Urban is very similar to laminates cost-wise. People also may choose Urban because they want a floor that can be floated, as installation of a floating floor is more cost effective than for a direct stuck floor.

How does Urban compare to other Forté collections? 

The Urban collection is 14mm thick, this is our thinnest engineered timber flooring product compared to the 16mm Moda Collection and the 21mm Ultra. The Urban wear layer (area above the tongue that can be re-sanded) is 3mm, meaning it can be sanded back 1-2 times over its lifetime if required. Due to its stable engineered construction it is likely to outlast a solid timber floor of the same dimensions.

Where can Urban be Used?

Urban can be used for flooring, wall panelling and ceiling coverings in both residential and commercial applications. When directly stuck, Urban is compatible for use with most types of under floor heating.
