Interior designer Angela Parlane discusses her Te Awamutu house project, her choice of timber flooring, and how she found working with Forté...

About the project

For this modern contemporary new build, we were looking for a wooden floor with some subtle interest & colour that would work in well with interior spaces which are a mix of white & concrete walls & grey toned tiles in the master bedroom ensuite.

Angela's choice of flooring

We chose Forté Smartfloor Coral Oak because it has a lovely warm tone & the black grain tied in perfectly with the dark island bench in the kitchen. It also added an extra layer of detail throughout the rest of the house. The homeowners are delighted with how the flooring turned out & love how the colour of the wood adds warmth to the interior of the house especially in the utility room, family bathroom & toilets where the colour palette is all white.

On working with Forté

Having the Forté showroom in Auckland to take the clients into & show them the different options in the planning stages of the project enabled the client to visualise how the end product would look. The staff were extremely helpful when working with our clients & made the whole process super easy. Right through from product selection & flooring quantities for the build to organising for the flooring to be laid. The whole process went very smoothly & we would definitely work with them again.
