We do not recommend using any kind of adhesive tape (even low tack) directly on a pre-finished wood surface - the chemicals in the tape can react with the coating, causing it to peel off when the tape is removed.
As most of our pre-finished products are factory finished overseas, the majority of the time it is not easy to touch up damaged areas.
