    A fresh take on modular building, set over stunning views of Wakatipu

    Set on the lake at Queenstown, this 128sqm bach was built as four modules offsite at Makespace Christchurch, then trucked and craned into place. Open-plan living and dining lead out to a generous deck with an outdoor fireplace, both oriented to hold the lake and mountain views uninterrupted, while four bedrooms, three bathrooms and a powder room split across two wings either side, with a private sauna and pickleball court alongside. Tactile Ebony panelling runs through the interiors — a black European Oak in wide planks, its rough-sawn surface and oil finish holding the texture of the timber against the polish of the views beyond. A turn-key build for clients living abroad, Makespace carried the project from design and consent through to site works, construction, delivery and landscaping.
