However, it is not recommended for horizontal use (i.e. benchtops) in rooms with high moisture or direct water contact (including kitchens and bathrooms).

Alor is assessed against NZBC clauses B1 (structure), B2 (durability — 5-year service life for internal elements, backed by a 7-year manufacturer warranty), C1 (limiting heat transfer, not for surfaces exceeding 70°C), C2 and C3 (fire), E3 (internal moisture — dry applications only) and F2 (hazardous building materials — Super E0 formaldehyde rating).

Alor panels are straightforward to install, similar to other veneer panels. However, it’s essential to ensure proper edge banding and seal all cuts to prevent moisture ingress and maintain the product’s integrity.

Alor Duo Edge banding is an innovative solution for more demanding applications. It is a 1mm veneer made up of a base layer of 0.5mm ABS colour-matched to a 0.5mm surface of prefinished timber. The ABS base is designed to seal the core, improving performance of the finished panel.
