Envello cladding warranty extended to 25 years

Millboard UK has extended the structural warranty on Millboard Envello cladding from 15 to 25 years, giving greater peace of mind for residential and commercial projects alike. It's a longer commitment behind a cladding system already designed to sidestep the problems timber cladding is known for.

What's changed

Envello previously carried a 15-year limited structural warranty. That cover now runs to 25 years, across both the Board & Batten+ and Shadow Line+ profiles. Registration within the specified window after purchase remains required to activate it — your Forté contact can confirm the details for your project.

Why it holds up

Envello is moulded from a solid, wood-free core of mineral and polymer resin, finished with a press-moulded oak surface under a Lastane elastomer coating and UV-stable topcoat. Being solid rather than hollow, and non-porous rather than absorbent, it avoids the rot, warping and end-grain sealing that come with timber cladding over time. It's also CodeMark certified in New Zealand as an exterior wall cladding system, cleared for timber-framed buildings into Extra High wind zones and every seismic zone under NZS 3604:2011.

No staining, no sealing

Unlike cedar cladding, Envello's durable surface requires no staining or sealing, providing enduring performance with minimal ongoing maintenance. The boards arrive prefinished and hand-coloured, there's no end-grain sealing to keep up on site, and a periodic wash is all that's needed to keep them looking as they did on day one. Over 25 years, that means no recoating cycles to schedule, budget for or access scaffolding to complete.

What it means for you

  • Architects and specifiers — a longer warranty term to weigh against timber and other composite claddings, backed by CodeMark certification that clears the usual alternative-solution paperwork.

  • Trade and builders — same installation method, batten spacing and detailing as before, with a stronger guarantee to stand behind once it's on the wall.

  • Homeowners — 25 years of cover on a cladding that's hand-moulded to look like real timber, without the recoating or upkeep timber demands.
